I love CNC, and I love to help people. Because CNC and Laser engraving are my passion and remain my hobby, it's not really a job. It's what I want to do Let me help you speed up the learning curve as CNC becomes more available to DIY folks like YOU !! Shoot me an email with your questions and I will answer as promptly as I can.

It all started.....

I've always kind of liked wood working. Dad came to visit one summer and said hey, want to learn how to turn a pen? I said sure, and the bug bit me.

Because one of my other hobbies / passions is computers, I began thinking, wouldn't it be cool if I could blend both computers and woodworking in to a hobby. So, like most of us do, I hopped on YouTube and started searching. Marc The Wood Whisperer was the first to catch my eye and was a real inspiration.

To make a long story short, I remember hopping on Ebay and searching CNC Machines, and this (pictured left) was my first machine. But....as my wife will tell you, I can be an extremist of sorts soemtimes, so, after I got past what I thought was the learning curve I researched larger more powerful machines....I mean how could I put a whole sheet of plywood on this little thing, not to mention, I LOVED the idea of beaing able to do wood turning using the CNC as well. And that's when I took the plunge in to the world of FULLSIZE production machines. And as you can probably tell, my research led me to CaMaster.

CaMaster has a GREAT forum with lots of educated people. Click below to learn more.

And this is ME...Just a guy trying to have some fun and see if I can't pass along some knowledge to make it easier for people by eductaing them to avoid some of the more common learning mistakes.

Lasers are cool too !!!

Ok, so I'm having a blast over the years with my CNC hobby. I posted a few YouTube videos, knocked out a bunch of fun projects for home and for gifts. Then bug number two bit me....Laser Engraving !!! Not only could I use my knowledge of CNC and computers, but my world of materials was extended, AND I could engrave stuff.

Bceause intricate inlays in to wood is something I love, I could improve my tolerances using laser technology. Not only that, but lasers are like having a 1/64th inch end mill and not have to worry about it breaking.

And so again, I began to research the world of lasers. I was going to start out with a desktop hobby laser, but I had been thru that before with my CNC machine. SO, with assistance from my father I was able to get a 36x48 Full Spectrum Pro Series Laser. It has opened up a whole new world of fun and intrest. They too have a good forum. Clcik below to learn more.
